Meet Akimera:
Your Guide to Into Wellbeing
My practice is built on a trauma-informed, heart-centered, and non-judgmental foundation. Trust, respect, and safety form the core of my interactions with clients. I firmly believe that each individual holds the keys to their healing; sometimes, we just need a helping hand to find and unlock our inner potential and wholeness.
Wellbeing Practitioner | Trauma-Informed Guide | Breathwork Facilitator | EFT Tapping Practitioner
Akimera is a trauma-informed Wellbeing Practitioner and Somatic Guide with over 15 years of experience working across the intersections of individual healing, community wellbeing, and creative expression. Her approach is grounded in compassion, self awareness, cultural awareness, and nervous system science, holding space for others to reconnect to their body, clarity, and wholeness.
She supports people to gently unlearn limiting patterns, integrate unresolved stress and trauma, and come home to themselves through a deeply embodied and heart-centered approach to wellbeing.
Her Tools
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) – Certified Level 2 Practitioner
Somatic Breathwork – Practicing and facilitating since 2020, with a deep foundation in anatomy and physiology rooted in her Health Science (Paramedics) degree
Kemetic Yoga – Trauma-informed and culturally rooted movement and breath practices
Trauma-Informed Facilitation – Grounded in safety, respect, non-judgement, and deep listening
Her Lenses
Akimera’s approach is holistic and integrative, drawing on:
A Bachelor in Health Science (Paramedics)
A Masters in Development Studies with a global and community wellbeing lens
15+ years of experience in community arts and cultural development (including program design and facilitation in schools, prisons, youth justice, and asylum seeker centres)
A strong lineage of healers, disruptors, and intuitive teachers
Her work bridges the personal and political, the spiritual and somatic, the ancestral and scientific, supporting people to reconnect with their power, presence, and purpose in an ever-changing world.
Roots & Lineages
Akimera is a queer, mixed-race, Black woman of Afro-Caribbean, Jewish, and Swiss heritage. Born in London and based in Australia, she lives and works on unceded Wurundjeri Country and honours the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi lands where she was predominantly raised. Her ancestry includes survivors of the transatlantic slave trade and the Holocaust, as well as a lineage of artists, healers, and human rights activists.
She shares her story not for performance, but because she believes vulnerability is a gateway to peace, and that healing is not individual work alone, but collective, intergenerational, and liberatory.
"I had a wonderful session with Akimera, she provided a safe, well informed and intuitive guidance throughout our work together that allowed me to feel heard, soothed and grounded. I really look forward to our future sessions together. Thank you again!"
